Just to say sorry to all those people who are waiting from an email back from me (there are 53 messages in my in box awaiting replies). We've been having a tough week with Toby who is struggling with the lack of routine and is unsettled and not sleeping well. The school summer hols are especially tough for him and therefore for me too! I am probably not going to get around to replying to everyone until next week when the children go back to school. Sorry if you're waiting to hear back from me - I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

Julie,
take your time, I'am writing it here again;-) I've send you a mail about this. It is very hard to do, I know how difficult it is!

No apology necessary .... school holidays are tough at the best of times, let alone with a child who needs more of you and your time.
Good luck for a good night's sleep! (for all of you)

I'm having a similar not sleeping thing here too - and constant falling out of bed when he does conk out.
Be kind to yourselves. And hooray for return to routines.

Do what you need to do. We'll still all be here when things are more under control.

Doesn't it make you wonder why they have school holidays for severely autistic kids or for that matter any kids with mental disabilities or learnig disabilities. My now 18 year old is like your Toby and the break in her routine make life hell for her and us as a family. I cope better since she now lives in a group home but the school holidays still make her life very hard.
