A message from my Mum
It's now been 3 weeks since my Mum's accident. The time that that she spent in hospital was the hardest and most traumatic and I'm so impressed that she came through it with such good humour. I know that the kindnesses of family, friends and all of you who left comments here on the blog have been a great source of comfort and strength to her and kept her going. That's why she'd like to make a special appearance here in person to thank you all for your good wishes.
"I can't tell you all how touched I am by all of the kind messages that were sent my way following my accident. The early days in hospital were very hard but knowing that so many people were wishing me well really did help. I'm also thankful for the many wonderful gifts that came from family and friends. Listening to music made the sleepless nights more bearable and helped me to 'escape' what was a pretty grim reality.
It's such a relief to be home again and I'm feeling really positive. I'm looking forward to getting on with my recovery and getting things back to normal. I'm really grateful for all of the warm support I've had - thank you all so much for taking the time to wish me well".
I know that Mum will be working hard at her physiotherapy and that Dad will be at her side every step of the way. And although it might seem like a long haul while she's recovering, it won't be long before she's conquering mountains with Dad again!

Wow, that's lovely to hear. I'm so glad your mum's making such a good recovery, she certainly looks happpy in that photo. I'm sure with all the support she's getting she'll be back to normal in no time! x
p.s. where are those mountains? They're gorgeous.

Hi Julie and Mum of Julie, you are both very special and strong women. The two pictures are opposites right now, but when you are strong enough to climb those mountains you will be strong enought to climb this mountain too! I really hope you will fully recover! Love from Holland! Nicolette xxx

Your Mum's courage and strength are so inspirational! She WILL be climbing mountains again soon. Let her know that my Mom broken her leg bady in a bad fall just a year ago and last Friday she and I were hiking in the mountains and she was doing great! I asked her, "Last year after they put your leg back together, did you think you'd be able to do THIS in just a year?" Her response was, "NO! Isn't it amazing?" The body is an amazing thing how it heals and your Mum will heal very well because she has such an amazing attitude! All the best, Cindy

Hi Juli!
So much time has passed since I wrote you when I knew about youre grandmother. Im so impressed that youre mum look so great! She looks very positive and paceful.I cant believe that she clims mountains. My mother only walks to take the bus and she does it when the car is being used by another person. LOL
thats the reason why she has so much energy!!
Im happy to see what wonderful support she has, for you, her family, friends, and her husband. there are no so much men that are so strong, with patience, "partners", in the bad circunstances.I think that her good humor helps a lot, because the "mind" helps the body. (I dont know if I wrote it well in english, i speak spanish :p )
After all i could see of you and youre family, I think that youre glad to have a wonderful family, wonderful grandma, wonderful parents, and it seems to youre surrounded by a very happy and inspirating people.
It seems to be the reason why your so special!!
=))
best wishes to you, youre mum and youre family.
Hugs
Lorena
