flitting knitting

I don't know what is wrong with me at the moment but I just can't seem to settle to anything. I have over 20 different projects on the go and none of them getting finished! Here's a case in point - wrist warmers that I started ages ago from Eunny Jang's wonderful pattern Endpaper Mitts.

Instead of having one finished pair to wear I have the beginnings of 4 pairs! I'd like to blame the weather with it's one-minute-sunny-next-minute-wet-and-rainy inconsistency but I am beginning to suspect that it's just me and I'd better get my act together and finish off some things before starting anything else new! For those of you interested there will be some animals in my etsy shop before the end of the month - hopefully some hedgehogs too!

PS: Earlier this week the Child Exploitation and Online Protection centre (CEOP) launched a new campaign to try to uncover more information about the disappearance of Madeleine McCann. They've put together a video on youtube called a minute for Madeleine.

You and i have so much in common in the "almost finished project" department. I think i just don't like the finishing part, but love the basic work...Knitting and crocheting the piece are the most fun for me, but sewing and embellishing are a bit of a drag. Right now my kitchen table is piled high with almost finished projects that will not be removed from that space until they are done!

Oh I am so with you there! I have too many UFO's cluttering up the place - I do work on them but get sidetracked with new and just as exciting projects. At the moment on the production line are 2 sweaters for me, a baby cardi, a lace scarf and a knitted rabbit hutch (don't ask)...and the inevitable unfinished pair of socks. The current weather must surely give you incentive to get those wristwarmers done and on your wrists!

Thank you for the information on the You Tube post about Madeleine. I hope many people watch it and keep looking for her. It breaks my heart to think about what is happening to her. My daughter is her age and I can not imagine what her family is going through!

It might be the pattern - I started a pair of endpaper mitts last month and just gave up. The pattern itself is beautiful, and not especially complicated, but the endpapers and I had a conflict and are not speaking at the moment. Hopefully we'll reconcile our issues in time for Christmas.

Ooh those mitts are gorgeous - no wonder you needed to cast on more than one pair!

I've finally managed to finish a very boring pair of socks for Monster, after two months of knitting them...with long breaks in between for casting on, and finishing, five more exciting projects!

I know I shouldn't say this (it's a bit like saying your pleased when someone stubs there toe just like you have)... but I feel better knowing I'm not the only one with lots of things left unfinished. And if half finished applies to all the patterns/balls of wool/pieces of fabric stockpiled but not actually started yet then I have about 100 of those - including your hedgies!

I'm just glad to know that I'm not the only one that has A LOT of UFO's. I have so many in fact, that I've started a large clear tub with them all in it, plus the two knitting bags full to the brim of projects that I think I'm going to work on fairly soon or frequently, plus the one other bag that I carry with me to work on those projects where ever I go (which includes your hedgehogs for a swap I'm in). :)

They look closed to finished, but I am knitting challenged. Perhaps there is a lot more to do and I just can't see it. Either way, it is a wonderful pattern. I am bad, I started your hedgehog pattern, messed it up 4 times and then put it down. I really need to try again, I keep improving with each attempt!

Thank you for the info re Madeline. Let's hope that someone tells what they must know, very soon. Love wrist warmers and these are gorgeous! They'll make great Christmas presents! How come we all like knitting and don't like sewing up? I've got one hodger...one set of doll's clothes, half a hat and two thirds of a Christmas Crib to sew up...the latter is a bit urgent ...I promised it for Christmas this year!!

Well,i suppose the upside is that if you settle to finishing them off you'll have 20 finished projects all in quick succession. If any of them are Christmas deadlines, you'll have no trouble polishing them off at all. And from what you've shown, they will all be lovely!

oooh those mittens are fabulous. By the looks of it you're not the only one (nor am I) I have just read a book on time management and it suggested writing a list of all the things you have to do and/or have started and not finished ... mine is at 43 so far ... and I'm still adding to it. The hand warmers are gorgeous, but I feel a great affinity with your post today, coming across a person who is compulsively making 100 things at once makes me feel a little easier about the 100 projects I generally have on the go all at once!

There's far too many tempting things to make and do - I gave up fighting against it years ago, having lots of variety keeps it interesting!!
