Hello

  • Thanks for dropping in. If you want to know about patterns or availability of toys please see 'things I get asked a lot' below.

Although I make every effort to reply to all emails and comments it isn't always possible to do so.

I do appreciate you stopping by though. Thanks!

little friends far away

Well, the most recent batch of toys have all hopped away to their new homes and yesterday I heard from Rachel who won the 200th post prize draw that her little rabbit had arrived. She requested a sailor dress and I really enjoyed experimenting with the collar on this one - I'll definitely make some more nautically inspired toys.

Anyway, for a while I've been meaning to catch up with some of the toys who've settled happily into their new homes. So, here they are with a big thank you to everyone who has sent me pictures.

Finlay and Su-Lin are enjoying life with Kim

a wedding!

It's still chaos here but the school Easter hols are nearly over and we're all still smiling (just!)

For a while now I've been meaning to share this fabulous creation that was sent to me by Kim. It's a wedding albumn showing the marriage of Dougie and Blueberry. The detail is breathtaking with each page beautifully composed and it truly is something I will treasure forever along with her previous wonders here and here !

Little Cotton Rabbit honeymoon!

It's become a bit of a tradition here at little cotton rabbits to show pics of some of the toys in their new homes and I'm really thrilled that people take the time to email pictures to me. Recently however I was even more overwhelmed when a big package arrived with the postman.

Honeymoon
And inside...

Honeymoon2

...a fab collection of treats, lovely wool and some wonderful pictures of a bunny honeymoon in the Bahamas! So much thought and creativity has gone into this and there was even a little message in a corked bottle with sand. It certainly looks like Joey and Dolly had a fabulous time!

Thanks so much to Shawn for the wonderful parcel full of sunshine - it certainly brightened my week and I will treasure everything!

more little friends far away...

I spent the weekend in my 'mailroom' surrounded by tissue paper, ribbon and packing tape and yesterday the latest batch of little cotton friends embarked on their journey to new lives near and far.

Mailroom

I love knowing that my little knitted creatures have arrived safely in their new homes and it's a real bonus when people take the time to send photos. So here's a round-up of some of the little cotton friends who've happily settled into new homes. Thanks so much to...

...Martine who has given Crispin a snuggly new home (and a posh new scarf),

...Clara and her son who have taken Linus on lots of lovely autumn adventures (more adventures of Linus can be found here)

And lastly Mrs Gosling (Nikki) who has emailed me about Maxie.

He has gone to work in her class of 4 year olds where he's helping them to learn their jolly phonics - I know he'll be having a wonderful time and will be really proud to be doing such an important job.

Thanks everyone for the updates x

A package from Dougie

I wanted to show you what came in the post today...

Doug1

Isn't it awesome?

Doug

I can't imagine amount of work that went into creating this little concertina book. It's perfect. It has a little passport for Dougie, a certificate of Australian Citizenship (he obviously has connections in high places to get that through so quickly!), a little bit about his new home and the friends he's made and some wonderful pictures of him enjoying himself.

Doug3_2

It was sent to me by the lovely Kim Bunney (yes, Dougie has obviously found the perfect family to live with - he doesn't even have to change his name!) and I'm going to treasure it always. Thanks so much Kim and Dougie.

Little friends far away...

In the absence of any new little friends to show you (although there are now some in production) I thought I'd share some pictures of some 'old' little friends in new places. Here are a few toys who've settled very happily into their new homes and dropped me a line.

Pablo has moved in with with Janice and even has his own personal guard dog, the lovely Sumo.

Kat at sent me some pictures of Tessie and Rosemary who are enjoying being together in her beautiful craftroom

These two ladies are obviously having fun with Shannon at Minerva Turkey

Dougie is having a great time in Australia with Kim and sent me a postcard:

Winifred has made some beautiful new friends over at biscuit's house

And last but most definitely not least Mr Minky has had an awesome time since leaving here - he's now been on holiday and got his ear pierced! Dave has documented the full debauchery of his adventures here, it's brilliant - you have to check it out!

The adventures of Daffodil

The life of a knitted toy certainly seems to be an enviable one! First there are all of the rabbits out there being cuddled closely each night and sharing in some magical childhood adventures, then there was Alfie with his outdoor pursuits and now I've had the most delightful email from Daffodil who is obviously living the high life!

Daffodils_travels_2

She's been enjoying the sights of Los Angeles, taking tea at the hotel Bel Air, having fun on the pier in Santa Monica and exploring Westwood Village. Really, it can't be bad can it? Maybe next time I send out one of the toys I should go along for the ride - anyone fancy covering postage and an air fare??!!

Thanks to the Lovely Ellen for the pictures.

A postcard from an old friend

I always love hearing from people who have one of my toys - it's so nice to get feedback, so you can imagine how big my grin was when I received this:

Alfiepostcard

It's a postcard from little Alfie Bunny who left here in a padded envelope a few weeks ago. I'm always a little sad when the final bit of tape goes on a parcel and one of my little creatures begins their journey to a new home. But Alfie has definitely landed on his feet and clearly could not have gone to a better home. He also sent me this photo and a note saying that although he didn't catch a fish he didn't mind too much as he prefered carrots for his supper anyway.

Alfie_on_holiday

Alfie

What bunny could ask for more - holidays, encouragement to try outdoor pursuits and being well catered for in the culinary department (a much better life than his previous one of sitting in a box under the stairs with his siblings). Parting may well be such sweet sorrow but I take lots of comfort from knowing that Alfie is out there, living life to the full and enjoying every moment with the wonderful Michaela (who by the way makes awesome cakes and has just started her blog - so pop over and say hello!)

New homes

The latest batch of toys that were sold last week have started arriving in their new homes. I'm so grateful to Kim, Carolyn, Sarah, and Sue for their lovely emails letting me know that everything arrived safely. Lucy sent me a lovely email too and a wonderful picture of Isabel with Little Green Rabbit who was a special commission requested before Christmas.

me somebody to love find

Josie_and_daisy_1

Well, Daisy has definitely found love in the arms of one of the cutest little girls. Thanks so much to Words for Snow for these wonderful pictures of Josie - it means so much to me to see something I've made making someone else happy. And also huge thanks for being so sweet and generous in upgrading my flickr account - Suzie, hope you and your family have a very happy and healthy 2007. Happy New Year everyone
