The eagle-eyed among you may have noticed that I have a new link on the righthand sidebar (the little girl in the rose). This is a link to the website which is raising funds for a very special and unique little girl. Rose is the only person in the world known to suffer from her particular genetic abnormality and is also diagnosed with Severe Learning Difficulties, Developmental Delay & Autism. Rose's parents are aiming to raise £15,000 in order to send her to a specialised treatment centre in the USA. Hopefully through her treatment she will come a little closer to being able to unlock her voice and speak to her parents for the first time. You can read more about Rose and her family on this site.
Anyway, if you've recently won the lottery, aren't quite sure that you need 5 bentleys and 3 swimming pools and are thinking of doing something more fulfilling and worthwhile with the dosh or even if you just have a pound or two to spare and would like to donate it to a very worthy cause please pop over and visit with Rose and her family. Alternatively you could bid on a very special bunny that I'd like to auction for Rose.
Rose Bunny is available now on my shop and will go to the person who bids the most by 10pm on October 28th.

Rose the Bunny is just adorable!! And how very kind of you to auction her off. I hope she brings a lot of money and goes to a very loving home.

Perhaps a line of Floral Rabbits is in the future for the 2008 shop?
My favorite is the Tulip....hint hint hint!

brilliant idea, Julie, definitely a sellers market! Your blog touches many hearts and minds. I'll just go and raid my piggy bank! ;0)

Hi Julie, so nice of you to make the Rose-bunny for this good cause. I’ve visited the site and read and learned about Rose. I have a little nephew who was born with a genetic abnormality. Less than 10 children in the world have this same genetic abnormality. He cannot be helped in any way, so my hope’s are up for Rose, that she will ever be able to speak! Good luck with the auction!

What a special little bunny... and, so precious.
I wish that Let's Knit was available in the US. Would you ever consider purchasing extra copies in the UK and then selling them, adding on extra money, to add to the amount you're collecting for Rose?
Good luck with the auction. You are doing a wonderful thing.

I LOVE that sweater. Will you knit me one? Wow! She's up to 300GBP! I wish I had the money to bid.

You are really an amazing woman, and though the bidding has gone far too high for my pocketbook (keep going, keep going!), I'm heading over to donate what I can for Rose and her family. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, hopefully they won't feel quite so isolated and alone now (I can't imagine how it would feel to be the *only* known person to be suffering in such a way!).
The world is extremely lucky to have you in it.

Good grief, you must be so pleased! I thought I'd have a look at your shop to see if I may be in with a chance .... alack and alas I think not!
Good luck with the auction; what a thoughtful way to help this family :)

Beautiful, beautiful Roses. Fantastic bidding so far, I'm gutted that I don't have the money to bid higher than the current bid. I was hoping to win and get you to send it on to Rose so she could play with her very special bunny herself.
You are a wonderful person for running this auction for Rose and I hope you raise an amount of money beyond your wildest expectations. I hope all children in need have a special guardian angel like you to look out for them and speed them on their way to a better life. You are truly wonderful Julie.
